This summer, St. George’s Goes Wild is bringing the animal kingdom to Harrow with FREE family fun, exciting activities and wild adventures.
Before you visit, discover some amazing facts about some of the world’s most incredible animals!
An Elephant Adventure
The African elephant is the biggest land animal in the world! It can weigh more than 6 tonnes and grow as tall as 3.4 metres. Sadly, African elephants are vulnerable in the wild, so it’s important we help protect them. (Keep an eye on our social media where you can win a WWF elephant adoption pack!)

Speedy Cheetah
The cheetah is the fastest land animal in the world. It can reach incredible speeds of 70 mph in just a few seconds! Although they’re lightning fast, cheetahs can only sprint for a short time before they need a rest.

Mighty Hippo
Hippos might look slow and sleepy, but they’re full of surprises! Their skin is around 6cm thick, helping to protect them from other animals. Even more amazingly, they produce a special liquid that acts like both sun cream and moisturiser, keeping their skin cool and protected in the hot African sun.

Roaring Lion
Lions live together in family groups called prides, where they work as a team to look after one another. A lion’s roar is so powerful that it can be heard from up to 5 miles away, helping them communicate across long distances.
