The Kingsmen are back in another action-packed film with an all star cast. This instalment sees Jeff Bridges, Channing Tatum, Halle Berry, Julianne Moore and even Elton John joining most of the cast from the first film. Matthew Vaughn is once again in the directors chair meaning you can expect plenty of over the top action scenes shot in a very stylistic manner.

The film sees the Kingsman headquarters get destroyed by the new villain Poppy (Julianne Moore) forcing them to join up with the American agents known as Statesman to defeat the mysterious golden circle that’s threatening the world.

It opens with a spectacular fast paced car chase between Eggsy and a familiar face that’s shot really well and throws you straight into the action. From there, the film keeps us the fast pace with plenty of new plot points. This film, is a lot funnier than the first with a few times when the rest of the audience would erupt with laughter- some of which involved Elton John which were great fun. If you loved the OTT action from the first film such as the church massacre then you will definitely love this too. All of the action here is crazy. But it works and really fits in to the style of the film and it’s so much fun to watch. Especially the final action scene. I think it’s almost entirely one shot.

The film does feel a bit too long at some points but at other points I would have been happy if it lasted for hours on end.

Overall it’s a great fun film with some amazing action, a good cast and a bunch of laughs but it is ever so slightly worse than it’s predecessor.
