Childhood Eye Cancer Trusts
This year, the international event marks the beginning of the Childhood Eye Cancer Trusts (CHECT) “In The Dark” campaign to bring retinoblastoma (Rb) into the spotlight.
For a long time, it’s been shrouded in darkness – too many children are left in the dark because some or all of their vision has been stolen, and parents and health professionals are in the dark because not enough people know about this cancer.
This year, Vision Express are joining CHECT to shine a spotlight on Rb. As a charity, CHECT continuously strive for quicker diagnosis and more treatment options for children with eye cancer and we hope that our In The Dark campaign will shine a light on Retinoblastoma and make more people aware of this rare and aggressive cancer.
Retinoblastoma is a rare form of eye cancer which generally affects children under 5 years old. It is treatable, but if signs are noticed they must be checked out quickly.
